Texas Square Face

$229.00

In 1965 a two transistor fuzz would revolutionize the sound of the electric guitar and kick off the fuzz phenomenon of the sixties. The germanium Fuzz Face. This circuit was famously used by Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and David Gilmour.

The Square Face is a variation of the Fuzz Face designed as a replacement for SRV’s vintage Fuzz Faces, which were always dying. The original square was built into one of Stevie’s dead Fuzz Face boxes and he used that pedal until his unfortunate death.

The Square Face has the same controls as the Fuzz Face but features “NPN” transistors and a DPDT switch for true bypass switching. The Square Face is renowned for it’s fuzz tone and “clean-up” interaction with the guitar volume - when rolled back the fuzz becomes clean and articulate. This feature gives the Square Face a range of sounds and lends itself to classic rock and blues.
