Build Your Own: Dual Rangemaster Fuzz Face (Sun Lion)

$159.00

Everything you need to build your own true to spec Dual Rangemaster / Fuzz Face

In 2005, Analogman began producing a combination of the Beano Boost and Sun Face called the Sun Lion. Two classic clones of pedals made by Dallas Arbiter in the mid 1960’s. The result of this combination turned out to be much more than the sum of its parts - a versatile tri-germanium fuzz.

No expense spared in selecting parts for this build. The 50's military style eyelet layout and quality components will ensure this circuit will be blowing out your eardrums for years to come! The build document for this kit includes a parts list, detailed layout diagrams, and step by step instructions with pictures. There is also a supplemental overview of popular boutique modifications, vintage variations of the original, and circuit analysis for those who wish to take a deeper dive and explore the inner workings of these classic circuits.

Included in kit:

  • Instructions to build the Sun Lion circuit (dual Rangemaster / Fuzz Face)

  • New old stock germanium transistors (vintage Mullard, New Market, RCA, and Texas Instruments germanium transistors; sorted for gain and leakage and tuned with an amp to sound true to the original.

  • Metallized polyester film capacitors

  • Pre-drilled hammered copper enclosure (color options available)

  • High tolerance carbon film resistors

  • Alpha potentiometers (Volume, Fuzz, Bias, Level)
