Harmonic Percolator

$229.00

A replica of the Interfax Harmonic Percolator (HP-1). A unique and highly textured fuzz designed by an eccentric Wisconsin engineer in the early 1970's. The Harmonic Percolator utilizes a single ended hybrid germanium / silicon transistor pair to create a sound unlike any of its contemporaries.

The HP-1 is a texture machine with a wide range of sounds. The circuit cleans up nicely with the guitar volume and reduces the gain linearly across its sweep. At the heart of this circuit is a 1960’s Mullard germanium transistor and Mullard black glass germanium diodes. The circuit is true to the original with the addition of a diode switch (germanium, silicon, and clipping bypass). The stock germanium setting is warmer and softer. The silicon setting is a bit more aggressive and bright. The center toggle position engages the clipping bypass setting for a cleaner tone with more output.

CONTROLS
- Balance (output)
- Harmonics (gain)
- Clipping diode switch (germanium / silicon / no diodes)
