Build Your Own: Rangemaster / Beano Boost

$89.00

Everything you need to build your own true to spec Dallas Arbiter Rangemaster.

In 1965 Dallas Arbiter began producing an amp top circuit that enhanced the upper-mid and treble frequencies of the guitar and provided a colored boost. This became popular among players for its ability to cut through the mix and drive the front end of a tube amplifier. Notable users of the Rangemaster include Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher, and Brian May.

No expense spared in selecting parts for this build. The 50's military style eyelet layout and quality components will ensure this circuit will be blowing out your eardrums for years to come! The build document for this kit includes a parts list, detailed layout diagrams, and step by step instructions with pictures. There is also a supplemental overview of popular boutique modifications, vintage variations like the Diaz Texas Ranger, and circuit analysis for those who wish to take a deeper dive and explore the inner workings of these classic circuits.

Included in kit:

  • Instructions to build the Analogman Beano Boost circuit (1965 Dallas Arbiter Rangemaster w/ 3 way cap switch)

  • New old stock germanium transistors (currently shipping with new old stock 1960’s NKT transistors; vintage Mullard, Texas Instruments, and General Electric available by request). Sorted for gain / leakage and tuned with an amp to sound true to the original.
