Rangemaster Treble Booster

$199.00

A point-to-point recreation of the Rangemaster Treble Booster - hand wired in a mini enclosure for your stacking pleasure. The circuit is true to the original and features a mid 1960’s black glass Mullard OC45, carbon resistors, and new old stock TRW capacitors. This version features an EQ switch to select from three shades of boost (high / mid / low).

The Rangemaster is a colored boost made by Dallas Arbiter in the mid 1960’s. The circuit focuses the signal in the upper mid and treble range, giving a harmonically rich push to the front end of a tube amplifier. Use it as a standalone for a touch sensitive boost, or stack it with an overdrive for an added layer of germanium grit.

CIRCUIT VERSIONS

  • Standard (Dallas Arbiter Rangemaster)

  • SRV spec (Cesar Diaz Texas Ranger) - a variant of the Rangemaster made by Cesar Diaz and used by SRV until his untimely death. This version has slight tweaks to the bias and spec of the germanium transistor that give this version a discrete feel and flavor.

Equipped with a standard 9V DC jack. This product uses vintage PNP transistors which require an isolated supply.
