Rangemaster Treble Booster

$189.00

A point-to-point recreation of the 1965 Rangemaster Treble Booster - hand wired in a mini enclosure for your stacking pleasure. The circuit is true to the original and features a mid 1960’s black glass Mullard OC45, carbon resistors, and new old stock TRW capacitors. This version features an EQ switch to select from three shades of treble boost.

The Rangemaster is a highly colored germanium boost made by Dallas Arbiter in the mid 1960’s. The circuit focuses the signal in the upper mid and treble range, giving a harmonically rich push to the front end of your favorite tube amplifier; a characteristic used to great effect by players like Rory Gallagher and Brian May. Use it as a standalone for a touch sensitive boost, or stack it with an overdrive for an added layer of germanium grit. The circuit exhibits “clean-up” when rolling back the guitar volume knob and is best placed first in the chain.
