Harmonic Percolator
A two transistor texture machine designed by an eccentric Wisconsin engineer in the early 70’s. The Harmonic Percolator has since amassed a cult following for its unique and chaotic sound. The circuit is based around a hybrid silicon / germanium gain stage that clips asymmetrically and imparts the signal with a textured fuzz. If you're a fan of the guitar tones on "In Utero" this will be a great addition to your arsenal. This version is true to the original with the addition of a three-way switch that selects between germanium and silicon clipping diodes.
The circuit features molded TRW and Eromak capacitors, carbon composition resistors, a 1960’s Mullard germanium transistor, and black glass Mullard germanium diodes for a sound that is true to the original.
