A hand wired replica of the Interfax Harmonic Percolator — a lesser known fuzz circuit designed by an eccentric Wisconsin engineer in the early 70’s. This circuit features an original design with a sound and circuit that bears no resemblance to contemporary circuits. While the Percolator is celebrated for it’s higher gain textures it excels at a range of gain levels and responds favorably to rolling back the guitar volume.
This circuit features a hybrid silicon / germanium transistor design that clips asymmetrically and imparts the signal with a highly textured and harmonically complex fuzz that resemble an overdriven console, but with more warmth and natural compression. This version features a diode switch that alters the clipping character of the circuit for 3 distinct settings (silicon / germanium / diode bypass). The circuit is true to the original in the germanium setting.
