Tone Bender MK1.5

from $229.00

Our take on the classic Vox Tone Bender MK1.5.

This pedal features eyelet board construction, new old stock components, and a carefully curated selection of 60’s and 70’s germanium transistors chosen for feel and authenticity. The circuit is true to the original with the addition of an external bias control that allows the user to fine tune the texture and cleanup of the circuit.

TRANSISTOR OPTIONS
A curated selection of new old stock germanium and silicon transistors from the 1960’s and 1970’s. Hybrid options are chosen so each transistor / model is placed where it tends to perform best in the circuit.

  • Mullard GET / 1974 Texas Instruments - a hybrid pair of Mullard and Texas Instruments germanium transistors manufactured in the UK. Medium-high gain.

  • Mullard OC / Mullard GET - a hybrid pair of 1960’s Mullard transistors. Low gain. Excellent clean-up.

  • New Market NKT / New Market NKT - a close cousin of the New Market NKT275 transistor used in the earliest runs of Fuzz Faces. These early 60’s New Market transistors are highly regarded for their touch sensitivity and harmonic complexity.

Equipped with internal battery snap and 9V DC jack. This product uses vintage PNP transistors which require an isolated supply. <10mA current draw.
