Si / Ge Fuzz Face
Our take on the classic Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face circuit — available in the iconic ‘60s germanium version as well as the more aggressive 70’s silicon variant.
Each pedal is hand-built using traditional eyelet board construction, vintage components, and a carefully selected pair of new old stock transistors chosen for feel and authenticity. This version features an external bias control that allows the user to fine tune the texture and cleanup of the circuit.

TRANSISTOR OPTIONS
A curated selection of new old stock germanium and silicon transistors from the 1960’s and 1970’s. Hybrid options are chosen so each transistor / model is placed where it tends to perform best in the circuit.
GERMANIUM
Mullard GET / 1974 Texas Instruments - a hybrid germanium pair featuring a 1960s Mullard GET transistor alongside a 1970s mil-spec Texas Instruments. Medium-high gain with articulate fuzz tones, strong cleanup, and a slightly brighter, more aggressive character than the New Market / Mullard set.
New Market NKT / Mullard GET - A hybrid pair of vintage New Market and Mullard transistors inspired by the earliest Fuzz Face circuits. The New Markets are a close relative of the exceedingly rare NKT275 transistor used in the earliest runs of Fuzz Face pedals. These are as close in sound and spec as I have found to the original 275. This pair has a warm, harmonically rich fuzz with exceptional cleanup and a softer vintage character.
SILICON
Mullard BC108 - Early-1970s UK-made silicon transistors with thick saturation, strong sustain, and a slightly warmer voice compared to the BC109.
Phillips BC109 - Late-’60s to early-’70s silicon transistors with a brighter top end, tighter attack, and more aggressive response. Highest gain available.
Equipped with internal battery snap and 9V DC jack. This product uses vintage PNP transistors which require an isolated supply. <10mA current draw.
